in continuation of my vespatch No. 33 re-
-garding the coal mortgaged to the National Bank, I now beg to
acknowledze receipt of your telegram of the 18th. instant repeat- -ing a message received by Your excellency from his Majesty's
Minister, requesting that copies of correspondence and jocurents
be transmitted to London. I beg to enciose paraphrase of His
instant Majesty's Minister's telegram to me, No. 10 of the 18th, the first paragraph of which forced the substance of my Despatch to you of
the 13th. instant.

As regards the second paragraph of the
telegram No. 10, i beg to state that I have had no opportunity
afforded me of examining the account books therein referred to,
nor have I any reason to suppose that the viceroy will extend to me
the courtesy of allowing me to inspect them. I shail, however, do
my best in the matter.
As regards the last paragraph of this tele-
-gram, in which His Majesty's Minister desires me to place the
office copy of the bank's Mortgage as registered in rebruary, 1905,:
at the disposal of the viceroy's Secretary for inspection, i beg
to state that long ago i hai, during an interview with the viceroy's
Secretary in my office, produced the duplicate copy of the Wort-
-gage Deed, as registered, for his personal inspection, as also
